Day 1: Bangalore to Wayanad | Wayanad Arrival & Sightseeing

Pickup from Bangalore Hotel / Home / Railway Station / Bus Station and proceed to Wayanad, Check-in to your Wayanad hotel (not included), after freshup proceed to visit below Wayanad Sightseeing Places. Wayanad lush green mountains covered with snow white clouds is something that will greet you as soon as you enter this hill station.

Banasura Sagar Dam

Banasura Sagar Dam, the largest earthen dam of India, is located in the laps of Banasura Hills. You can enjoy breathtaking views of the reservoir or adventurous activities such as speed boating. The area is blessed with diverse flora and fauna, lush greenery and majestic waterfalls. The dam stands along the Karamanathodu river.

Lakkidi View Point

Lakkidi View Point is located on the southern tip of Wayanad. The best way to enjoy this destination is to trek to the viewpoint. Instead of feeling tired, you’ll be energized by the sights of green and small streams. Lakkidi View Point offers an amazing view of the valleys and mountains.

Chembra Peak

Edakkal Caves are natural caves famous for their exquisite carvings. Some of these carvings date back to the Neolithic era. The best way to enjoy the caves and its surroundings is by trekking to it. Keep aside two hours to undertake the entire trek.

Kuruva Island

Kuruvadweep is a cluster of islands in Kabini River in Wayanad. Bridges made of bamboo trees and other rare species of trees, birds and orchids beautify this island. Tourists can enjoy boat rides and rafting in the streams of the island. We recommend taking nature walks while you are here.

Pakshipathalam Bird Sanctuary

Pakshipathalam Bird Sanctuary is every nature lovers’ and birdwatchers’ heaven. Keep an eye out to spot rare birds, plants and rock cut caves. The sanctuary is loved by campers as well.

Wayanad / Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary

Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary is home to endangered species of both flora and fauna. The sanctuary occupies an area of 345 square km. The sanctuary is divided into two sections – Muthanga and Tholpetty.  Eucalyptus and bamboo trees crowd the forest.

Pookot Lake

Pookot Lake is a natural freshwater lake surrounded by forests, lakes and hills. Tourists are charmed by the peaceful surroundings of the lake. Must visit spots of the lake are the aquariums, children’s park, and handicrafts and spices emporium.

Meenmutty Falls

Meenmutty Falls is famous for its jungle trek. Tourists visit the falls to witness gushing streams of water and lush greenery. Tourists can also be seen hiking in the virgin terrains of these falls.  This is the second highest waterfalls of Kerala.
